What a blessing and relief!

The Lord Provides

I think I can hear the hit 1986 Europe song, “The Final Countdown”, finally fading out in my head.

As the Lord does, through a variety of phone calls to various friends old and new, we have a spot! Monday I met with Matt Quinn from MVP Athletic Performance in downtown Springfield. We had a jolly visit and determined it would be great fit for both of us!

We are officially locked in for our open house and our very first Sunday!

I can hear the, “WAHOOOOOOHOOHOOHOOO’s!”, all across the world from here! The space is going to be great. It’s a gym, but one whole side is turf and will be usable for our needs. He has chairs we can use. There is a great little natural entryway for tables we will setup. We’ll even be able to hang some permanent signage eventually. We will have to keep the little ones off the equipment but that’s typical no matter where kids are. Bathrooms are upstairs. There is free street parking and then just across the street is more free parking at the Springfield History Museum.

One last notable detail you might pick up is that we will be having evening services for the time being. There are a variety of reasons for this, not least of which being our locations availability. We hope to eventually transition to Sunday morning service and keep an evening service more geared towards topical instruction, membership classes, or things of that nature. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there.
